We recently responded to a call in North Hollywood where the homeowner was concerned about possible moisture issues inside their unit. At first, there weren’t any major visible signs no flooding or obvious leaks but something didn’t feel right.

After our initial assessment, we found that moisture levels throughout the unit were higher than normal.

What We Discovered

Using moisture detection tools, we confirmed that the issue wasn’t just on the surface. The moisture had already spread into building materials, including:

• Drywall

• Insulation

• Baseboards

In total, about 180 square feet of drywall and insulation had been affected.

This is a situation we see more often than people expect. Moisture doesn’t always show itself right away, it can travel behind walls and quietly build up over time.
